Salt Mine in Wieliczka is one of the best known tourist venues in Poland. Every year it causes admiration among nearly a million tourists. After ages of salt mining mine at Wieliczka is an underground world. At nine levels, reaching depth of 327 meters 3000 chambers and nearly 300 km of passages are situated. For centuries salt was used as a form of payment and wat the most important Polish export. It was taken to Silesia, Hungary, and the Ukraine by merchant caravans and then shipped from Gdansk to the European market. This natural resources is located in Wieliczka, East from Krakow.
Tourist Route leads through the oldest and most beautiful part of this world. A stroll along undergrounds of Wieliczka means walking over two kilometers in therapeutic microclimate, in the scenery of corridors, underground lakes and chapels, specific forms of the underground „architecture”. In the passages and chambers of tourist route it is possible to see the remnants of the old mining techniques and methods of securing the workings. All this, beautiful and unique itself is enriched by the artistic creations of talent and imagination of generations of miners, sculptures and bas-reliefs. In 1978 the Wielczka Salt Mine was included in first UNESCO’S List of Cultural and Natural Heritage. The mine also invite to Underground Rehabilitation and Treatment Centre.
Wieliczka Salt Mine is organized from Katowice, Bielsko -Biala, Krakow, Sosnowiec, Cieszyn, Wroclaw, Warsaw and different cities of southern Poland.

There are two options to visit Salt Mine:
Visits are organized with other tourists on the spot. The standard group entering the mine consists of 35 persons.
A guide always supervises the whole group visiting the mine
You can choose your own language, tour guides supervising tours at the mine speak various languages for the benefit of foreigners visiting the mine.
From October to May, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., every hour, and from 10.00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. also every 30 minutes
From June to September, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every 30 minutes
All year round at 10:45 a.m. and 4:10 p.m.
From June to September additionally at 2:15 p.m
All year round at 10:15 a.m., 12:05 p.m.
In July and August, additionally at 3:15 p.m.
All year round at 1:10 p.m.
From April to October additionally at 9:45 a.m
In July and August additionally at 9:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m.
All year round at 11:10 a.m., 2:10 p.m., 4:15 p.m.
From December 26th to January 10th additionally at: 10:10 a.m., 12:10 p.m., 1:15 p.m
All year around at 11:20 a.m,

-Earlier reservations are necessary.
-Visits are organized privately for you.
